Last Day of the Month

-It’s the last day of the month which in the car business means you better get everything in order.  We’re down to the wire and need to make sure we have the best day ever.  What do we do when the last day of the month is rainy?  Grrrr!!!!  We hope that people are still wanting to get in before those rebates change. You never know if they are changing for the better or for the worse.  Our April rebates are really good if you are looking to buy or lease a new vehicle.  I’m sure we can find something for you, no matter what your needs are.  Come see me at Kistler Ford today or call me at 419-705-2148.

8 Rules to Follow at the Scene of an Accident

I was out with some awesome ladies the other night and they asked about my blog.  I mentioned that is difficult sometimes to think of things to write about.  One of them told me I should write about what to do if you have an accident.  What a great idea, here we go…

Of course the first thing to do is to stay calm, people often forget this first step because their adrenalin is rushing.  No one ever expects to get into an accident and I can’t ever remember anyone saying there is a good time for one.  This is probably also not a good time to freak out and cause more problems for yourself, the other driver, or the emergency crew.  It will all be okay, especially if you remember these 8 rules:

1.  Stop immediately, but make sure you are not blocking traffic.

2.  Assist anyone that is injured.  You should also make sure you call 911 to help you, repeat this if they are not there in 5 minutes.

3.  Get the names, phone numbers, and addresses of the other drivers, witnesses, and the injured.  Especially if they are cute, lol.  Sorry, hope that wasn’t inappropriate;)

4.  Write down the make, model, and license numbers of all the cars involved.

5.  Take photos, this is a very important step.  You may also take a photo of the other drivers licenses to make sure you have the correct info.

6.  Never accept claim settlement at the scene of the crime.  It may not seem like a lot of damage but you may be surprised at some of the underlying damage and the price.  If the person offers you a million dollars take it, you should always take a million dollars, lol.

7.  Remain calm, courteous, and consistent in your version of the accident.  It may differ from the other persons but telling the truth is much easier than trying to remember a lie.

8.  Last but not least contact your insurance and a body shop (Kistler Ford has a fantastic one and you get to talk to Annie and Jerry, my favorites).  They will help you with your claim.

I really hope you never have to take this advice but if you do Stay Calm.  Happy Driving!!!

Go Ahead, Challenge Me

At work we are doing something fun and out of the ordinary.  Myself and a co-worker of mine decided that we were sick of all of the fast food and junk that we were eating out of convenience at the office.  We had both gained a significant amount of weight since starting our positions.  As someone who really tries to take car of myself, this was very frustrating.  I love to run when I have time and typically eat healthy foods.  Sometimes I just indulge in whatever is around me, in this case it was junk.  We decided to do a weight loss challenge and got 16 other people involved.   We all put $20 in a pot and at the end of the challenge there will be 3 prizes awarded for the most weight loss by percentage.

I have done 2 other weight loss challenges in my life and have won both of them so I think I’m pretty good at eliminating a lot of foods, working out, and adapting to a healthier lifestyle.  It’s the follow up that I have a problem with.  We are in the 4th week and I have lost a little bit but know I want to lose more.  I have a good chance of winning (if any of my challengers are reading this, you better step up your game, lol).  I have been running more often, keeping track of my calories by using an app called “My Fitness Pal” that I love.  It also keeps track of the exercise that you do which allows you more calories for the day (I love to get extra calories).  I am also doing Herbalife, I go to UR WAY NUTRITION (look it up or call Terry at 419-917-3458) in the morning to get my shake.  They are delicious and you can choose a different flavor everyday.  Terry’s motto is “Making Shakes and Saving Lives with Aloe and a Prayer.”  He makes fantastic shakes and also serves aloe and tea which is quite yummy, helps with digestion, and burns 80 calories immediately.  This concoction is actually a meal replacement that is very low in calories but packed with nutrients.  All I can say is I love my Herbalife!!!

If I can keep up the pace of weight loss that I’m on right now, I am sure to win a prize.  Now time for my run:)

Taxes

Well hello everybody, you’re either excited or dreading this time of the year.  I can’t remember the saying but it goes something like this, “there are two things in life that are certain, taxes and death”.  We all know that death is certain and of course we never know when it will happen but taxes happen every year whether we like it or not.

I’m usually pretty happy around this time of the year, not only because the temperature outside is rising, the birds are chirping, and spring is in the air, I also typically get a tax refund.  It usually goes straight to bills but I also take a little and do something fun with the kids.  Last year I took them to Kalahari and we had a blast.  A lot of people wait until the last minute to file, I’ve been known to do that but I filed earlier this year.  Some of you haven’t even thought about your taxes yet.  What will you do with your return?  Will you use it for fun, paying bills, or big purchases?  Feel free to comment below about what you’ll be doing with your return…..

Ladies’ Networking

I am involved with a fantastic group of networking women that get together several times during the month.  I am only able to go to the Wednesday evening group that meets at Chandler Cafe in Sylvania.  It is an evening filled with fun, laughter, and great women.  Over the last 4 months I have really enjoyed going to these events.  I have rarely been with a large group of women that have so much mutual respect for one another.  I have seen a lot of women tear each other down and try to hold each other back but I am so impressed to be with women that think very differently.  This group is dedicated to lifting one another up and empowering each other.  After all, this is the year of the butterfly!  “A butterfly is proof that beauty can emerge from something completely falling apart”, a quote from Jane Lee Logan.  There are so many obstacles that we have as women and there are days that we feel like we’re falling apart.  I know as a mother that some days I pat myself on the back and think I’m doing a great job and some days that I think I’m completely failing.  It is these times that we need to band together as moms, sisters, and girlfriends to encourage one another.  I feel like I get this from this women’s networking group that I am so blessed to be a part of.

If there are things in your life that you think you may be missing out on, take some time for yourself even if it ends up that you just go for a long meditative walk or go out with some encouraging friends.  You need to take care of yourselves and if you don’t know how or think you don’t have time just remember that “Your time as a caterpillar has expired.  Your wings are ready.”  Go out and spread those wings today.

At Bobby Jorgensen’s Kistler Ford we are having a Girls’ Night Out evening on Friday, April 10th from 7-9pm.  Plan on attending this event, we are going to have cocktails and hors d’oeuvres as well as massages, manicures, and quick make-unders. 13ABC’s Lissa Guyton is our special guest speaker and you will be able to speak with any of our female Product Specialists that are leading the change in the Automotive industry.  Please RSVP for this event at joannie@kistlerford.com.  I hope to see you there and remember this is ladies only.  Sorry guys, maybe another time!

What is Kistler’s “Free Buying” Program?

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UifN8SHxfH8&feature=player_embedded

I was asked to explain the free buying program on video. Again with the video, ugh!!! Lol. I am hoping some day to be comfortable behind the camera, until then I will just pretend. So, watch the video and keep your comments to yourself. Ha, I’m just kidding! Feedback is always welcome as long as it’s good:)

The free buying program speaks for itself and as much as I would love you to purchase a car from me, I just want to make sure you are happy and satisfied with my service. If you are in the market for a new vehicle, please consider stopping in to see me at Bobby Jorgensen’s Kistler Ford. I’d love to help you in whatever way you need me to.

FAQs with the Kistler Crew

Q: What’s all the hype surrounding Kistler’s “Free Buying” Program? What is it!?

A: Need help figuring out how much your next car purchase should cost you? Do you need assistance knowing what questions to ask a dealership?

At Kistler, we have something called a ‘free buying’ program. It allows our Product Specialists to help our customers even if they chose not to buy a Ford vehicle. For example, even if an individual decides to buy a different brand, our Specialists will go through the buyer’s order with them to make sure the customer gets the very best price and incentives, no matter where they go to purchase.  Essentially, we give them the tools they need, so they can ask the right questions at other dealerships, therefore they can get the very best price for that brand.

Q: Why would you offer this? Don’t you want me to buy a car from you?

A: We would…

Foodiecards are Fun

Enough about me, I asked my friend Amy to guest blog on my site today.  I love her Foodiecards and the passion she has for what she does.  My family has these cards and we have a great time deciding where we want to go for dinner.  Sometimes I shuffle the cards and let one of the kids pick randomly.  Whichever card is picked is where we go for dinner.  it’s always an adventure!  They are also great to give as a gift.  Here you go, Amy……
What are Foodiecards?? So glad you asked is my usual response to this very common question! Foodiecards are a playable deck of cards, with a twist.. each one is worth $10 off your meal at many of the great restaurants, clubs and trendy hot spots all over Toledo and the surrounding areas. I am proud to be in charge of the fundraising aspect of this fun business. They retail for $30 and we give $10 per deck to the charity, school, fundraiser, non-profit etc! That can really add up and it has been a great way for patrons to try new places as well as some of their favorites!
We can sell upfront for $20 per deck or we can loan them out on consignment so there are no upfront costs and we will take back any unsold decks with no questions asked. Foodiecards are now available in two new exciting cities..Columbus and Cincinnati. Please feel free to contact me for details and get your fundraiser going today! We have worked with schools, sports teams, churches, and many non-profits such as US Vets Inc which helps Veterans find housing, doctors, relocate etc. Foodiecards would be proud to help you raise funds for your favorite causes!
Thank you,
Amy Jacobs

Blue, Red,and White

A favorite part of my job is talking to so many people daily and hearing different stories about their lives.  I was sitting down with a really nice couple the other day.  They love the 2015 F-150 and are excited about finding the perfect one.  I asked them what colors they would NOT want to own.  They said blue, red, and white.  I, of course being silly said they must not be very patriotic then.  The gentleman in his late 60’s sat back in his seat and said “wait a minute” and pointed to his jacket which was a US Navy jacket.  Yet another time that I wanted to insert my foot into my mouth, lol.  He served in Vietnam and was very interesting to talk to.  Luckily for me this guy had a great sense of humor and understood I was joking.  It was a nice conversation and I’m looking forward to working with them when they return from Florida.  I’m thinking about hopping into their suitcase.  A little sunshine sounds amazing right now:)

I hope in these cold and snowy winter months you’re finding a little sunshine in your life.

Being green…..

I like to test products out and absolutely love free things.  A few weeks ago I got to test the Ford Fusion Energi out for a few nights.  I’ll tell you what, that thing can really go.  I glided along the road without hearing or feeling the engine.  I felt like I was on a roller skate, it was quiet and it moved fast.  If it would have been warm enough (yea right, I live in Ohio) I would have rolled the windows down and just cruised in my Energi.  Unfortunately, it is still too cold to roll with my windows down.  I did however enjoy the free transportation and not having to buy gas.

This weekend I’m lucky enough to have the C-Max Energi (the other roller skate).  The Energi  vehicles work on both a gas engine and electric.  You charge it and can drive an average of 19 miles on electric alone.  The average mpg is 88 miles, this car is efficient, better for the environment, and fun to drive.  The awesome thing about these vehicles is that they still contain all of the cool technology that Ford has to offer including myFord touch with sync.  I wouldn’t want to live without that!

If you see a tan C-Max with green leaves and Kistler Ford stickers on it this weekend, that’s me gliding around town with my kids and my roller skate.  Please beep at me and wave.  Then stop in sometime to Kistler to say hi.

If you are not following my blog yet, please do that now.  I am looking for 10 new followers by the end of January.  Don’t forget to confirm it in your email.  Thank you!

FAQs with the Kistler Crew

Q: What Is Promise Pricing?

A: Hey! I’m Sunday from Kistler Ford, and I want to talk to you about Promise Pricing! It is the absolute lowest price in North West Ohio, guaranteed! We offer a discount immediately off the MSRP that you see on sticker price, then we look for applicable rebates you qualify for!

Q: How do I know I’m getting the best price?

A: You’re getting the best price because I’m on salary, meaning I don’t make commission and I’m not a salesperson! In other words, we don’t have to raise the price of a car to make money! Instead, we will help you find rebates you quality for and deduct that from the price.

Q: Where can I find the Promise Price of a vehicle?

A: You can always go online to KistlerFord.com to see what the Promise Price is, but the best way is to come in and see…
